FAQs

What kind of music do you play?
The short answer is pretty much anything. If you want to find out more about how I started in music, check out my get to know me page here. I've got everything from Fleetwood Mac and Sabrina Carpenter to Architects and Sleep Token in my setlist!
How far do you travel?
Wherever you'd like me to go! I actually really enjoy driving, and I've done weddings from Aberdeen, right down to Cornwall. If it's a considerable drive, or I need to leave super early in the morning, you may also need to cover a hotel stay for me for the night before, and possibly the night of, if you're choosing a full day package.
I'm based in Nottingham, and I charge 50-56p and base my travel costs off the Musicians Union guidelines. I appreciate travel costs can add up really quickly, but a few hours worth of travel one way can turn into more time travelling than actually performing. For quotes further afield, I prefer to send you a quick quote via message, and then we can arrange a call if you'd like to move forward.
Do you play guitar live?
Currently, my set up is live vocals with professionally recorded acoustic guitar (or composed piano) which is recorded either by myself, another musician or a high quality instrumental I've recorded online.
The reason I do this is I know that I can give you an amazing vocal performance, but I don't want to compromise my vocal performance with my average guitar playing skills. I love to add multiple layers to my acoustic guitar and I can't do that live!
I may, in the future, add live acoustic guitar to my performances, and this will be combined with my current performance set up.
Do you take a deposit?
I take a small deposit which is based off of the travel cost of your booking. Please note, that your date is not secured without a paid deposit and I cannot save dates.
Can I see your full setlist?
Yes, I have a master setlist which I send out to all of my couples, which is every song on my setlist. This changes on a weekly basis, as I'm constantly adding more songs to my setlist. You're welcome to give me as little or as many as you'd like.
What equipment do you use?
I use a BOSE L1 1S sound system. You can see it in most of my videos. It's pretty discreet and easy to move, and takes about 15 minutes to set up and pack down.
My venue have asked for your certificates. Do you have those?
I hold both Public Liability and PAT testing certificates. If your venue asks for this, please feel free just to pass on my contact details and i'll send them over.
Do you take requests?
Yes! In a lot of my packages there are custom songs included. A custom song is a song that isn't already on my setlist. I'll learn the song, create a structure and rearrange the style (if applicable) and perform it for your event.
Can we borrow your microphone?
If I'm at the venue and it's included in your package, (like a full day package) then absolutely! It's always worth checking with your venue as they may already have a system and this will be included in your booking.
Are there any custom songs you can't do?
For alternative and metalcore songs, if something has absolutely no melodic structure to it, it could take much longer to create a custom song (because its basically like making a melody from scratch at that point.) If this is the case, it may be possible but i'll need much longer to learn and re-structure the song. It won't be possible to do in a couple of weeks, especially in the middle of a busy wedding season. It's always worth having those chats as early as possible to ensure we can make your dream music performance come true.
Can you move in between sets?
That's no problem at all. Keep in mind that it takes about 15 minutes to set up between performances, and there is only one of me. I'll never take time off your sets for moving and i'll always start your set time from the first song. Same as if I need to move because of the weather.
What happens if you, or we need to cancel?
If you need to re-arrange your date and I have your new date available, i'll move it free of charge with no questions asked - but please give me as much notice as possible. Cancellation up to 90 days will be free of charge, but the deposit will remain non-refundable. Up to 60 days before the event, and 50% of the balance will be owed. 40 days before the event, and 70% of the balance will be owed. 30 days and under before the event, and 100% of the balance will be owed. If I have to cancel due to unforeseen circumstances, all payments will be refunded and I will help you find an alternative replacement.
Will you sing the Goblin Song...?
... maybe. In exchange for some canapes? More likely.
